R.E
In RE pupils learn from religions and world views about different ways of life. They discover, explore and consider many different answers to questions about human identity, meaning and value. They learn to weigh up for themselves the value of wisdom from different communities, to disagree respectfully, to be reasonable in their responses to religions and world views and to respond by expressing insights about their own and others’ lives.
"RE supports our British values because we can learn to have tolerance of different faiths." - Duckmanton pupil
"RE supports Article 14 - the right to practise our own religion. We can learn about lots of religions in this lesson." - Duckmanton pupil
Take a look at what a year of RE looks like at Duckmanton Primary School:

RE teaching at Duckmanton is a celebration of the diverse culture in which we live. Our lessons explore the important role that religious and non-religious world views play in human life.
The children will learn about a diverse range of organised religions including:

Islam
-
Judaism
along with the non-religious world view, Humanism.
*Sometimes, the order in which units are delivered may change to acommodate for religious festivals and celebrations which may link to the things we learn in class. We might also move units to allow for guest speakers to visit school and to attend school trips which support our learning.
